Food Tour of Bengaluru Itinerary

Begin your food tour of Bengaluru, also called Bangalore, in the heart of the city centre, meeting your guide at the VB Bakery just off Sajjan Rao Circle.

From there, you'll set off on your gastronomic route exploring the oldest and most picturesque food stalls in Bengaluru's historic centre. Let your senses be delighted by the smells of Indian spices and the vibrant colours of typical Karnataka dishes, before you taste delicious local treats such as Tangy Chat.

Immerse yourself in the foodie traditions of Indian culture as you watch locals prepare iconic recipes like wada pav, a deep-fried potato dumpling in a bread bun; dabel, a spicy potato filled bread roll topped with crunchy peanuts and pomegranates; and samosas, one of the most famous Indian snacks throughout the world, known for their spicy flavours and their perfect crunchy-outside soft-inside texture.

You'll then stroll down bustling lanes past street food stalls selling panipuri, a favourite snack of locals in Bengaluru and across many other areas of the subcontinent too. Stop at one of the most popular spots to enjoy this delicacy, a round hollow crisp filled with flavoured water and fillings such as chickpeas, potatoes, onions and tamarind chutney.

For the finishing touch on your gastronomic walking tour, relax at the famous Irani Cafe and wash down the tasty foods you've tried with a delicious cup of masala chai accompanied by a traditional Irani cake called maska.
